Today the company owns and manages an international real estate portfolio that includes commercial and residential properties, hotels, golf courses, vineyards and blueberry and cranberry farms. In addition to its ongoing pursuits in real development and construction, AG has expanded its holdings to include assets in the sports & entertainment, renewable energy, aquaculture, tourist attractions, restaurants and food & beverage industries.

**SUMMARY**:
Residing within the Finance team of the Aquilini Properties, the Junior Accountant is responsible mainly for assisting the accounting department to complete their monthly, quarterly and annual objectives.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Perform bookkeeping functions for various businesses
- Performing reconciliation of various bank and GL accounts on a monthly-basis
- Support month-end and year-end closing process
- Assist in preparing year-end working papers for external auditors
- Respond to inquiries from the Director of Accounting regarding financial results and special reporting requests
- Liaise with operations management and any involved parties to provide timely, accurate financial results and analysis
- Preparation of GST/QST return filings
- Various ad hoc and special projects

**REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS**:

- A diploma or degree in accounting or administration, or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of full-cycle accounting experience
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and SAGE 300 or other accounting software
- Impeccable accuracy with numbers and high level of attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong communications skills (written and verbal)
- Professional demeanor and presentation
- Ability to work proactively both independently and in a team environment
- A solid work ethic with ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner
