**The Opportunity**:
Terra’s Groutman in our shoring department is experienced, safety-orientated, is able to carry out the physical demands of the job, and communicates well with others. Terra’s ideal future Groutman has a minimum of 1 year of previous experience working as a shoring labourer. Terra’s Groutman reports to our Shoring Superintendent and Shoring Foremen.

**A day in the life of the Groutman / Driller - roles and responsibilities**:

- Encapsulate rebar and mesh with product to ensure zero gaps in shotcrete
- Ensuring anchors, ground wires, etc. are properly placed and spaced
- Working the Grout Plant, ensuring machine is operational
- Work safely in a construction site and promote a safe work environment adhering to safety policies and procedures including participation in safety meetings
- Perform inspections on all hoses and equipment prior to use to ensure safety and equipment is operating correctly
- Maintain equipment and promptly report any maintenance issues
- Maintain quality results of work
- Work as a team with other crew members on daily activities of the site
- Other ad hoc duties when required to support the team and maintain work flow

**Qualifications
- what you bring to the organization**:

- Minimum 1 year of shoring experience
- Wanting to work towards becoming Nozzleman or full time Driller
- Willingness and ability to carry out physical demands of the job
- Willingness to work full time hours plus some overtime when needed
- Experience with shoring methods (tie steel, shotcrete pump, etc) is an asset
- Safety-orientated
- Ability to work in various weather conditions
- You use and continually develop construction leadership skills
- Ability to commute to sites across the Lower Mainland
- Flexibility and willingness to work at different sites in various locations in any given week
- Outstanding communication skills and team player
- Flexibility and willingness to do other duties as and when required by the team

- Must be physically fit, able to spend most or all of shift standing, walking, lifting, and carrying, working hands-on in an outdoor environment in all types of weather
- You are an outstanding communicator and team player

- First aid, confined space, and fall protection training is an asset
- Understanding of safety and ability to communicate safety issues as they arise
- You are comfortable travelling to different sites and meeting locations within the Lower Mainland
- You live locally in Vancouver, the Lower Mainland or Coquitlam area
