Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and customer-oriented Bakery Clerk to join our team. As a Bakery Clerk, you will be responsible for assisting customers, preparing bakery items, and maintaining a clean and organized bakery department.
**Duties**:
- Baking start to finish batters and pastries
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers in a friendly and efficient manner
- Assist customers with their bakery orders, including answering questions and making recommendations
- Prepare bakery items such as bread, pastries, cakes, and cookies according to recipes and quality standards
- Package and label bakery products for display and sale
- Operate cash registers and handle customer transactions accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the bakery department, including regular cleaning of equipment, utensils, and work areas
- Stock bakery shelves and displays with fresh products
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate any shortages or discrepancies to management
- Follow all food safety regulations and guidelines to ensure the freshness and quality of bakery products
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a bakery is required
- Fluent English is mandatory
- Strong knowledge of food handling procedures and safety standards
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to operate a point-of-sale (POS) system for cash handling purposes
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and recipe measurements
- Ability to work well in a team environment, collaborating with other bakery staff members
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate packaging and labeling of bakery products
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 25 pounds
Note: This is a paid position. Internship positions are also compensated.
**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: $17.55-$19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 - 30 per week
