We are currently seeking 1 individual for this rewarding position. The employment specialist within the ACLBB organization works to support individuals that self declare a barrier to find employment to obtain meaningful employment within the community.

The position is 75 hours biweekly, 830am-4pm Monday to Friday however there may be times where an evening or time on the weekend may be needed. The starting wage for this position is 18.00 an hour with an increase to 19.00 after one year of service. Please see below for additional information on the job description.

The Supported Employment Options (SEO) Employment Specialist shall work under the direction of the SEO Coordinator and within the mandate of the Association for Community Living-BB. The SEO Employment Specialist is responsible for adhering to all policies and procedures of the Association as well as encourage adherence of said policies and procedures amongst co-workers. This position at all times will respect and maintain confidentiality of all issues involving clients, co-workers and ACL-BB. This position will at all times abide by the Mission, Vision, and Value Statements of the agency.

**Overall Responsibility**

The SEO Employment Specialist is an integral member of the client care team and is responsible for supporting all employment and training activities identified in individuals’ plans with ACL-BB in a manner consistent with Association for Community Living-BB’s philosophy and policy within the SEO program, the Vulnerable Person Living with a Disability Act and Manitoba Family Services vision, mission and principles. He/she will ensure high quality of program delivery and is passionate about supporting individuals with disabilities. This position ensures opportunities are provided for clients for access to valued outcomes, self-determination, meaningful involvement and valued roles in the community.

**Requirements**:

- Working with persons with disabilities is an asset
- Knowledge of The Person Centered Planning philosophy and process
- Knowledge of the Health and Safety Act
- Strong knowledge of the Vulnerable Persons Act
- Must be able to complete Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) training
- Must be able to complete First Aid course
- Must be able to travel on Association business
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle

**Specific Job Responsibilities**

**Client Care/ Client Services**:Respects and protects the rights of clients, including but not limited to their right to independence, autonomy, and self-determination; their right to choose and practice individual values, beliefs, religion, and culture; their right to privacy and dignity; and their right to live free from retaliation, discrimination, and abuse. The Employment Specialist takes every precaution reasonable for the protection of others.The SEO Employment Specialist will work with other programs and departments to enhance the life of participants by being their advocate; will work concurrently with the SEO Coordinator to roll out new programs and initiatives that enhance participant experience with ACL-BB and their daily lives. He/she will ensure the needs of individuals that the Agency supports are taken care of in a manner with dignity and respect. Accurately complete incident reports immediately upon identification of an incident and provide it to their Coordinator. The Employment Specialist is responsible for ensuring that they deliver quality programming and client services is exemplary and that any issues they are unable to resolve are reported to their Coordinator. This position will at all times work to ensure that the safety and health needs of individuals within ACL-BB are cared for in a respectful way and that they are engaged in activities that work towards their desired outcomes. They are responsible for transporting clients to and from work. The Employment Specialist will provide on the job training and assist with the creation of training plans for employers. Attend meetings when necessary for ACL-BB clients and meet with other programs (internal or external), family members involved or those who have a vested interest of the clients under the SEO program.

**Strategy, Vision & Leadership**: The SEO Employment Specialist will advise the SEO Coordinator and other departments they work with of any changes arising regarding programming and client care. He/she will work within ACL-BB’s strategic goals
