**Job Title: Asphalt Foreman**
**Overview**:
Asphalt Foremen play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating asphalt paving projects. They are responsible for ensuring that asphalt paving operations are carried out efficiently, safely, and according to project specifications. Asphalt Foremen supervise crews of workers, manage equipment, and communicate with project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful completion of projects.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Project Coordination**: Coordinate and oversee all aspects of asphalt paving projects, including scheduling, manpower allocation, equipment management, and material procurement.
- **Supervision**: Supervise and direct asphalt paving crews, ensuring that work is performed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Provide guidance, training, and support to crew members as needed.
- **Quality Assurance**: Ensure that asphalt paving operations meet or exceed project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Conduct inspections and quality control checks to verify the quality of workmanship and materials.
- **Safety Compliance**: Promote and enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, procedures, and regulations on job sites. Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards and risks to prevent accidents and injuries.
- **Equipment Management**: Manage and maintain asphalt paving equipment, including pavers, rollers, trucks, and other machinery. Coordinate equipment mobilization, maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
- **Communication**: Serve as the primary point of contact between project management, subcontractors, clients, and other stakeholders. Communicate project status, milestones, issues, and resolutions effectively and professionally.
- **Problem Solving**: Identify challenges, obstacles, and deviations from project plans, and develop effective solutions to address them in a timely manner. Proactively anticipate and resolve issues to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
- **Documentation**: Maintain accurate and detailed records of project activities, including daily progress reports, work orders, material usage, equipment maintenance logs, and safety documentation. Ensure that all paperwork is completed accurately and submitted promptly.
**Qualifications**:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in construction management or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in asphalt paving, with at least [X] years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Thorough understanding of asphalt paving techniques, materials, equipment, and industry best practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate teams.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make decisions under pressure.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, protocols, and procedures related to construction and asphalt paving.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, and project specifications.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record; CDL (Commercial Driver's License) may be required depending on the job requirements.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
**Physical Requirements**:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift heavy objects repeatedly.
- Endurance to work in outdoor environments in various weather conditions.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for operating equipment and tools.
- Good vision and hearing for safety and communication purposes.

Pay: $43.00-$50.00 per hour
