**Cemetery Worker**

**Woodland Cemetery, Mausoleum, and Crematorium** is looking for a **Cemetery Worker **to join our team.

The Cemetery Grounds Worker will report directly to the Cemetery Superintendent and is responsible for upkeep of the grounds and facility maintenance. This position is based on a 40-hr work week which may include Saturdays and overtime when required.

**Cemetery Grounds Worker**

**Responsibilities include**:

- General cemetery care, including but not limited to cutting and trimming of grass, tree and shrub care, leveling sunken areas, seeding, leaf collection and disposal.
- Ensuring safety of memorials.
- Maintenance and repairs of equipment and facilities.
- Preparation of graves and niches for interments.
- Infrastructure maintenance and upgrading.
- Snow and ice removal.
- Additional duties as assigned.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required for this role**:

- Completion of highschool.
- Possess a valid drivers license in good standing.
- Heavy equipment training, or certification would be an asset.
- Landscaping, and/or cemetery training, or certification would be an asset.
- Integrated Pest (IPM) certification would be an asset.
- Ontario Landscape License would be an asset.
- Chainsaw, small engine or welding certifications would be an asset.
- Ability to empathize with grieving families.
- Ability to interact positively with general public.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to prioritize duties, meet deadlines, multi-task and work with a mínimal amount of supervision.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to lift 50lbs.

**Experience**
- Cemetery Grounds Work: 1 year (preferred)
- Landscaping/horticulturist: 1 year (preferred)

**Schedule**
- Mon-Fri 8:00am to 5:00pm
- Rotating Saturday schedule 9:00am-1:00pm and occasionally Sunday as required.
- 2- 15-minute brakes with an 1 hour unpaid lunch

**Salary**: $21.00-$23.00 per hour
