**Primary Purpose**
Fleming College, Toronto Programs is a public college-private partnership between Fleming College and Trebas Institute, with academic delivery and student support services managed by Trebas Institute.
We are seeking a **Student Support Coordinator** who is passionate about working the field of education. The Student Support Coordinator will assist and support international students in their settlement transition to Canada. Provide personal care and attention by engaging students and offering information to facilitate a seamless and positive settlement experience.
**Specific Responsibilities**
- Develop a comprehensive process to ensure a smooth transition of international students from their home country to the GTA, based on best practices and student input.
- Coordinate the ongoing process of supporting international students with accommodation and housing options, cultural adjustment and integration opportunities, and accessible support services.
- Assist international students by coordinating pre-arrival, arrival, and settlement support services for international students who travel and transition to the GTA.
- Build and nurture working relationships with new and existing housing accommodation partners for the purpose of securing affordable, convenient, and trustworthy accommodation options for international students.
- Liaise with relevant external agencies and service providers to access resources and information to support international students.
- Monitor and react to the ongoing changes in the Canadian Government rules and regulations pertaining to travelling to Canada.
- In collaboration with the Marketing Team, assist with creating resources, materials, graphics, and documents to assist students with travel/settlement processes and procedures.
- Develop and coordinate informational presentations and workshops for international students on various topics related to settlement in the community.
- Assist and support with the development and delivery of events for international students including student orientations, workshops, and on-campus activities.
- Develop efficient communication strategies and tools to address frequently asked questions and handle large volumes of students queries in an efficient manner.
- Document and update student information on the internal student information system accurately and in a timely manner.
**Position Requirements**
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline required.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working within a Student Services and/or client-based environment, preferably in a post-secondary environment.
- Experience in student services, client advocating, admissions/records, and/or recruitment.
- Experience working with international students and new immigrant populations will be considered a valuable asset, as will any experience with various levels of government.
- Exceptional planning and coordination skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written (additional language considered an asset).
- Multi-tasking, ability to work in a high volume and face-fast-paced environment,
- Excellent time-management skills, multi-tasking, and ability to prioritize effectively.
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
- Acts with ethics, accountability and integrity and demonstrates sound judgment and respect for the individual in all interactions with others.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
