**Your Opportunity**:
**Description**:
As an Addiction and Mental Health Recovery Worker, you will contribute to the delivery of community based services to persons with a chronic addiction and/or severe and persistent mental illness using psychosocial rehabilitation principles, promoting client respect, autonomy, health and improved quality of life. Your duties will include carrying out assigned tasks in a client focused recovery plan which includes support to participate in activities of daily living, recreational and social activities, and educational and employment activities. You will work collaboratively with other health and service providers. In this position, you will work under the direction of a regulated health provider.

**Required Qualifications**:
Completion of diploma from a post-secondary program in a related field or equivalent.

**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Warm and welcoming engagement style. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Basic Life Support Level C., Knowledge of systemic issues such as poverty, unemployment, stigma, medications and the isolation felt by individuals with serious mental health issues and their families. Class 5 driver's license and access to motor vehicle in good repair for work related travel is required. An excellent attendance record, reliability and personal suitability must be demonstrated through your employment record and references.

**Preferred Qualifications**:
2-4 years’ experience in community mental health settings, particularly with regards to housing support. Knowledge of and ability to respond to cultural needs of diverse populations is also an asset. Developing and maintaining a welcoming and engaging environment and housing program culture for individuals with mental health and/or addictions and their family and/or primary supports. Proficiency with the use of Microsoft office is also an asset.
