**YARD MANAGER**

The Yard Manager, under the supervision of the Operations Manager, oversees the comprehensive management of the yard, ensuring a highly efficient, safe, and organized operation. This involves optimizing employee performance, enforcing company standards and policies, and overseeing daily interactions that include goal setting, employee development, correction measures, equipment operation, and work schedules.

**YARD MANAGER responsibilities include**:

- Oversee preventative checks, maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities
- Accomplishes personnel strategies by determining accountabilities; communicating and enforcing values, policies, and procedures; implement orientation, training, coaching, counseling, disciplinary, and communication programs; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job performance and contributions.
- Encourage a safe working environment by ensuring adherence to safety policies and practices
- Work to create an excellent experience for customers and employees while minimizing costs and maximizing volume and margin at the facility
- Interact with customers to solve and rectify any issues and improve overall customer experience
- Serve as a positive representative of the company to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty to the company
- Communicate with management team to encourage frequent material flows, transparent shipping schedules, consistent and high material quality shipments, and optimal margins
- Work with management team including: Finance, Administration, Health-Safety (HS), Human Resources, Maintenance, Marketing, Logistics, etc.
- Ensure accuracy of inventory through; proper input of information into scale operating system, daily review of inventory levels and associated costing, and managing the payment process accurately reflecting value of material being purchased and sold
- Make certain that daily inspections of all equipment are completed by appropriate personnel in a timely manner and according to specifications. Align equipment repairs with production schedules to minimize downtime.
- Manage accurate and timely input of information into software programs
- Identify opportunities for operational improvements and execute such initiatives
- Maintain clean, safe and organized work areas for customers and employees

**Leadership**
- Manage, coach, motivate the team and complete the performance evaluations.
- Ensure the procedures of daily operations with the managers and then monitor the execution of all their activities

**Performance Management and Measures**
- Monitor staff and report on their results;
- Prioritize, analyze performance gaps, identify business opportunities and reduce costs, using available tools;
- Write any report required for management;
- Work towards the achievement of budgetary financial results;
**Client orientation**
- Promote and manage a customer-oriented team;
- Be constantly on the lookout for new, innovative and create services that will improve or simplify processes;
**Continuous improvement**
- Define, develop and implement improvements to the processes, procedures and policies of operations.

**Other related tasks**
- Enforce and enforce health and safety regulations.

**Qualifications**
- Comply with all policies and procedures of CFT Recycling
- Intermediate computer knowledge
- Hands on management of daily operations
- Knowledge of scrap metal commodities
- Knowledge of laws and regulations governing transportation and weight determination
- Ability to work independently with excellent time management skills.
- Demonstrate ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to build and maintain working relationships with customers.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Strong commitment to the long term development of employees. Able to provide leadership to all employees in teamwork, safety and job performance. Education & Experience
- Experience in the recycling industry is an asset

**Additional Information**

- Negotiated based on experience.
