Production Supervisor

Simcoe, Canada Superior Essex Full time

ESSENTIAL PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:
Production Supervisor shall be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of production and operation workers, such as inspectors, precision workers, machine setters and operators, assemblers, fabricators, and plant and system operators. Production Supervisor shall ensure that production schedules are created and completed on time, and within budget.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Confer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints and grievances
- Enforce safety and sanitation regulations
- Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods, e.g. inspectors, fabricators, etc.
- Provide motivation for employees, increasing morale
- Increase worker efficiency and production rates
- Monitor and assess employee performance
- Ensure that work orders are completed in a timely fashion, within budget
- Work with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within and between departments
- Demonstrate equipment operations and work and safety procedures to new employees, or assign employees to experienced workers for training
- Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules and other records / reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs

REQUIRED knowledge/skills/abilities and other minimum qualifications:

- Diploma in a related field
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Production experience preferred
- Direct working knowledge of operations, warehouse, and transportation management
- Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering, as well as inventory control of these items
- Experience in managing third-party service providers
- Strong knowledge of [ ] software systems, as well as Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Able to maintain filing systems, databases, and basic diary/minutes management
- Knowledge of local and federal regulations and ordinances
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Meticulous records maintenance skills
- Superior telephone manners and strong interpersonal skills
- Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization and its executive team
- Strong customer service orientation
- First Aid skills and/or certificates are considered assets

Additional Qualifications:
Work Conditions
- Able to lift at least 50 lbs
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
- Overtime as required
- Production floor safety issues
