**The Role**
Reporting to the HR Manager, Ontario, this position acts as a liaison between our hospital network and our home office to support our People. The focus of this role is to partner with our Field Operations Team in Calgary and British Columbia on all aspects of the people side of the business, including employee engagement and retention, proactive HR strategies, employee relations, health and safety and HR administration.
**Responsibilities**
- Field Operations Support _
- Provide employee relations guidance and best practices aligned with our guiding beliefs and organizational philosophy
- Act as first point of contract for HR-related needs for Field Operations Team
- Coach Practice Management teams from a people perspective, developing their performance management and leadership skills
- Counsel on the importance of standards and best practices - how to create a supportive team environment, impact team engagement, coaching conversations
- Provide recommendations on how to manage absenteeism and mental health challenges while educating teams on available tools for support (i.e. EAP)
- Ensure alignment and consistent execution of HR initiatives across network
- Have an ongoing presence within hospital network to maintain a culture of open and honest dialogue
- HR Leadership & Focus_
- Partner with the HR team to execute HR initiatives within region
- Participate in regular meetings with Regional Director & Operations Director team to understand the needs of the region
- Identify gaps in the region and assist with the creation of HR workshops and education opportunities
- Deliver HR focused workshops within region: positive employees & teams, people development, performance management
- Drive engagement and talent development within region through regular talent mapping meetings
- Provide HR administrative needs - letters of confirmation, performance improvement plans
- Conduct HR onboarding for new Operations Directors joining the team
- Health and Safety & Compliance_
- Ensure H&S in clinics is top of mind and clinics are compliant with their H&S program administration
- Ensure legislative compliance within the region and educate Practice Managers on standards/requirements
- Additional tasks:_
- Work closely with multiple stakeholders including operations team, vendors, and cross-functional peer partners
- Provide support on HR projects and initiatives as needed
- Other HR-related tasks as assigned
**Background, Experience and Qualifications**
- 3-5 years of HR generalist experience, preferably in a multi-unit business operation
- Completion of degree or certificate in HR administration
- CHRP designation is an asset
- High level of expertise with employee relations, employment standards, common law decisions and compliance
- Solid knowledge of employment legislation is a must for Western Canada
- As this is a field-based role, ability to travel within the region district on a regular basis, including occasional overnight travel
- Proven ability to build relationships with peers, home office team and field team to positively impact business operations
- Ability to work independently and to manage conflicting priorities
