Labourer I

**Labourer I (Parks)**:
**(CUPE Full-time, Time-durated - approximately 4-6 months, with possibility of extension)**

The City of Pitt Meadows is recruiting up to five Labourer I’s to assist with seasonal work and vacation relief coverage. Under the supervision of skilled staff, work may involve duties associated with maintaining public fields and trails, including weeding and planting, grass cutting and litter pick up as well as routine cleaning, maintenance and repair of municipal services located within public spaces.

Normal working hours are Monday to Friday, from 7:00am to 3:30pm. However, a compressed workweek schedule may be considered. Depending on operational needs, there may be opportunities for scheduled overtime.

**Qualifications**:

- Completion of grade 10 or have equivalent experience or training.
- Experience in a municipal environment will be considered an asset.
- Ability to safely use a variety of hand tools.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to maintain positive working relationships with others.
- Ability to work outdoors in all kinds of weather and safely perform physical labour.
- Ability to work independently.
- Driver’s license for the Province of British Columbia.
