**DUTIES**:
Duties include client management and business development in the BC region (and others as identified). Assist with preparing marketing plans, market sector analyses, and proposals to grow client base. Grow work within existing client base preparing proposals, networking with clients and developing new service offerings. Provide project management support for ongoing work including preparing work orders, change orders and other project documentation. Develop existing and create new processes, tools and project controls to drive constant improvements. Lead project teams and mentor more junior staff. Conduct design reviews of transmission and distribution projects and perform duties of responsible engineer including sealing of drawing packages. Represent MCW in industry related associations, special interest groups and committees. Act as a liaison between the MCW Vancouver management and AGE Power Consultants with respect to projects and resources. Maintain access to a base of qualified prospective employees. Provide turn key project management services to clients.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Skills
- Degree in Electrical Engineering recognized by Canadian universities
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers & Geoscientists BC
- Excellent written and spoken English language
- Excellent customer service and relationship building skills
- Proven leadership skills working in technical teams
- Proven Project management skills
- Ability to function in a sometimes fast paced and stressful environment
- Ability to manage multiple streams of work with competing timelines while maintaining high levels of quality.
- Good MS Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Experience in estimating and preparing budgets; analyzing financial reports; managing billings.
- Valid Class 5Driver's License

**Nice to have**:

- Familiarity with CAD systems and drawing standards
- Familiarity with standard industry design/analysis software for distribution systems at 35kV and below
- A range of distribution related skills such as planning, system engineering, protection engineering, design, and project management
- Utilities Experience
- Experience and technical knowledge in both overhead and underground electric utility distribution systems.

The initial assignment will involve familiarization with the various functions within MCW’s AGE Power Consulting Division and interfacing staff and clients. Functions that the future incumbent will be exposed to may include either partially or in their entirety the roles of Repeatable Design Project Manager and Engineer of Record/Professional of Record - Senior Engineer

It is expected that once the future incumbent is suitably familiarized with MCW’s culture, organization and client base they will be transitioned to the Role of Western Division Manager. The position of Western Division Manager will also includes the function of RDE Contracts Manager as follows.

Repeatable Design Contract Manager
- Primary client contact at contract and senior management level.
- Plans adequate resources with appropriate skills and competencies are available and in balance with Repeatable Design work allocations
- Interface with other workgroups within MCW, and our sub-consultants (geotechnical, civil, structural, and mechanical) as needed to provide resources to execute contracts.
- Reviews and endorses proposals for new work requests based on resource availability and profitability of work streams
- Works with contract admin assistant to track variances on a monthly basis and take corrective action as required
- Ensures quality programs are in place and being followed. Reports and tracks quality nonconforming items within the quality system. Works with Quality Audit team within the RDE Contract framework.
- Collects reporting information from PMs and with the help of the contract admin assistant prepares progress reports and KPIs (Schedule, Quality, Costs) for monthly contract meetings
- Provides back-up to PMs and project leads as needed. Provide Technical Expertise to Design Leads as needed.
- Coordinates each of the three major teams under RDE contract
- With assistance from the contract admin assistant and project managers is responsible for the generation of monthly billings of all unitized work
- Monitors productivity of each line of work and provides feedback to PMs and project leads as required
- Reports to partner in charge
- Responsible for submission of contract renewals, extensions, and amendments
