**Pharmacy Assistant L2** | CareRx Parksville**

**Reporting To: Pharmacy Manager**

**Compensation: $20-24 per hour.**

**JOB SUMMARY**

The Pharmacy Assistant, Level 2 supports in the efficient functioning of the pharmacy and assists in the dispensing of medication, working under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist or Pharmacy Manager. They provide superior customer service in a friendly, knowledgeable and professional manner as well as focus on the achievement of pharmacy excellence in the areas of customer service, workflow efficiencies, and inventory management. Experience with Kroll software, and demonstrated proficiency in data entry of typing new prescriptions, is a requirement for this position. The Pharmacy Assistant, L2 primarily supports the pharmacy in the data processing department.

**SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Preparing prescriptions (gathering data from nursing staff) to be filled via Pharmacy software
- Processing, adjudicating, and filling prescriptions
- Entering prescriptions into eMAR software.
- Conduct third-party adjudications required for prescription billing
- Process refill prescription requests within the Kroll system
- Ensure adherence to order cut-off times to achieve timely task completion
- Deliver prescription labels to the production department well in advance of scheduled delivery times, facilitating prompt service for nursing and retirement homes
- Manage prescription renewals through fax correspondence with healthcare providers
- Respond to phone inquiries from nurses, and direct calls to the appropriate staff member
- Proactively seek guidance from supervisors in navigating complex situations
- Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards and protect personal and organizational information
- Contributing to the overall organization and cleanliness of the pharmacy environment
- Other duties will be assigned as required for business needs within the Pharmacy Assistant scope of responsibilities

***TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES**
- Excellent working knowledge of Kroll and eMAR systems (Point Click Care, Catalyst, Med E Care)
- Competency with Microsoft Office software
- Demonstrated ability to operate PACMed and PACVision machines

**PHYSICAL COMPETENCIES**

**MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field is an asset.
- 2 years of pharmacy experience is an asset.
- Excellent working proficiency with Kroll software is a requirement.
