Mover/Swampers are an integral part of our business, and having moving experience is an asset. Mover/Swampers work well with a team and have a clean background check. Mover/Swampers address all clients and co-workers professionally and handle the clients belongings with care.
The following attributes are required for an Edgemont Mover/Swamper:
- Willingness to learn, even if little or no moving experience
- Ability to lift and carry 60+ pounds, sometimes on stairs, in all types of weather with some long days and Saturday shifts
- Strong work ethic, team player attitude and a professional image
- Organized, detail oriented and adaptable
- Reliable, punctual and communicate well with customers and teammates
- The ability to pack trucks efficiently and safely
- Neat handwriting that is easy to read
Edgemont Mover/Swampers will:
- Work as part of a moving crew
- Lift and carry 60+ pounds, sometimes on stairs, in all types of weather with some long days and weekends
- Wrap and pack furniture, specialty items, and glass to protect from damage
- Travel throughout the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island
- Use moving equipment such as furniture dollies, piano skids, pallet jacks, power tailgates, etc for safe handling and moving of household and commercial goods

- Ability to earn generous tips (usually average $3 - $7/hr additional)
- 4% annual holiday pay for hours worked throughout the year
- Health spending account at the end of a probationary period for full-time staff
- ½ an hour unpaid lunch break
- Overtime paid on all jobs over 8 hours, including out-of-town trips to Vancouver Island, Whistler and the Okanagan
Start: Immediately
Hours: Variable but usually 8 am start to job completion
Days: Monday - Saturday
