**Position Summary**

Responsible for the maintenance of phyto-remediation tree plantations at Belle Park

Assist with storm water surveillance sampling

Assist with monitoring well abandonment, spills response, soil, surface water and groundwater sampling

Some physical labour required i.e. carrying equipment, walking for long durations along waterfront, and through wooded and swampy areas across the city (in all weather conditions)

Perform other duties as assigned

Hours of operation are typically Monday - Friday: between 8:30 am to 4:30 pm

**Qualifications, Competencies**

MUST BE ENROLLED IN AND RETURNING TO FULL-TIME POST SECONDARY STUDIES IN FALL OF 2024 - Verification will be required

Must have completed two semesters of college or university in an Environmental or Engineering program of study

Must possess and maintain a valid Class "G" driver’s licence

Experience with landscaping equipment considered an asset

Must demonstrate corporate competencies: Customer Focus, Results Orientation, Integrity, and Teamwork

**Skills, Abilities, Work Demands**

Ability to work outside in inclement weather conditions

Able to perform the essential duties of the job such as lifting, pushing, pulling, and walking for long durations

Must provide and wear green patch safety shoes during shifts when required

Strong customer service skills

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel

Ability to organize and prioritize tasks

Judgement and discretion when dealing with confidential information

Ability to follow instructions and perform assigned duties with limited direct supervision

Excellent interpersonal skills
