**Job Function**
- Under the general supervision of the Clinical Director and the Physiotherapists at Generations Sport & Spine Physiotherapy Centre Inc., the Physiotherapy Assistant is there to assist the Physiotherapist with the patient’s treatment plan, which may include exercises, gait training, use of modalities (IFC, ice, heat, or traction, etc.). The assistant is responsible for reporting any changes in the patient’s condition or responses to the treatments to the physiotherapist.

**Responsibilities**
- Greet and welcome clients in a timely manner.
- Bring patients back to a sanitized room.
- Sanitizing and wiping down beds, handles, wedges, chairs, and stools after each patient.
- Maintain an awareness of patients throughout their appointment.
- Be ready and available for the physiotherapists for direction with each patient.
- Competent in completion of ultrasound, laser, IFC, combos, shockwave.
- Competent in using traction (lumbar, cervical).
- Competent in taking patients into the gym for exercise with appropriate supervision.
- Getting heat/ice for patients.
- Sanitizing throughout clinic: door handles, counters, seating, and any surface that needs to be cleaned.
- Showing gym members or patients around the gym or pool, answering any gym questions.
- Signing up gym members.
- Helping at front desk when needed: answering phone calls, scheduling patients, taking payments.
- Laundry.
- Check supplies (ie: stim pads, u/s gel, laundry detergent, cleaning products, etc.)

**Requirements**:

- Completion of an education program to be a qualified PTA/OTA, Exercise Physiologist or Kinesiologist.
- Excellent knowledge of standards and regulations in Standards of Practice for Physiotherapy in Ontario.
- Proficient in computer systems.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Exceptional organizational and leadership skills.
- Motivated and reliable.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 20-25 per week

**Salary**: From $16.50 per hour
