Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a
- **Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis**.Reporting to the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis and serving as an integral member of the finance team, the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis will be responsible for managing the finance strategic goals including budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term cost modelling while working closely with operations. In addition, the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis will be expected to bring energy and creativity to the identification of financial analysis and reporting opportunities. This role requires experience and a proven track record of creative problem-solving and change management in a fast paced, high growth organization.**Qualifications**:
- Education required:
- Bachelor of Business Administration with major in Accounting or Finance
- Professional Accounting Designation
- Experience required: 7+ years of relevant work experience
- Experience managing or supervising team members
- Experience being a strategic thinker in a fast-paced high growth organization
- Experience with multiple stakeholders
- Experience with Cognos TM1
- All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)._
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Organization Business Partner
- Oversight of overhead and capital spending to budget
- Manage reporting of period actuals to budget owners and forecasting of spend
- Develop strong relationships with budget owners
- Identifying budget owner needs and providing support
- Liaising with the Financial Accounting and Reporting team to ensure costs captured accurately
- Continuous improvement to all reporting
- Corporate Controls/Reporting
- Corporate reporting of period actuals and forecast financial information
- Corporate quarterly reporting, budgeting, and long-term financial planning
- Assist with consolidation of program forecasts and budgets
- Assist with forecasting yard wide labour rates to be incorporated in program forecasting
- Oversight of cash management and forecasting
- Responsible for corporate business insurance filings
- Government Contract Management
- Participate in negotiations with PSPC over yard wide labour rates
- Knowledgeable in 1031-2
- Managerial
- Coach and mentor finance team, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, conduct performance development planning meetings, and hold individuals accountable
- Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement
