The Thunder Bay and District Humane Society (TBDHS) is seeking a licensed, full-time shelter veterinarian to provide medical and surgical care to TBDHS shelter animals (canine and feline) and high-volume sterilization for surgical patients of our public spay and neuter clinic. This position is supported by an experienced team of registered veterinary technicians and veterinary assistants.
Essential Duties Snapshot:
- Performing spay and neuter surgical sterilizations
- Examining animals pre and post-op
- Performing daily care and surgical intervention of shelter animals
- Supervise the handling and recording of controlled substances by veterinary technicians
- Direct the work and provide feedback to RVT’s and VA’s in the clinic
- Limited after hours and on-call for surgical patients in the post operative period - tele-triage service is provided
