**IT Support Technician**
- (One-year contract - with the possibility of permanent full time to follow)_

**The South Simcoe Police Service is looking to hire an IT Support Technician, on a full-time, contact basis.**

SALARY: $59,015 - 77,727 annually

STATUS: One position, 40 hours per week

LOCATION: South Division, 81 Melbourne Drive, Bradford, ON South Simcoe Police Service

**CLOSING DATE: March 2, 2023**

**POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The duties for this position may involve but are not limited to:

- Server Maintenance - Support Windows Server 2016, 2019 Systems. This includes checking server logs, add update\security patches, and check services, error messages, security threats and user complaints to server issues.
- VMWare server setup, configure and manage hardware and software systems.
- Virus\Malware Management - Daily check of possible virus
- Desktop Computer Hardware Support - Troubleshoot hardware issues; repair and replace computer components; replace, image and setup new computers\laptops.
- Printers - troubleshoot, analyze and call for service when required.
- Internal\External Audio Video Support - Download from internal video systems as required by officers, upload to video management system(Axon). Assist officers extracting audio\video from different external video systems.
- Office 365 Support - Help users with configuring, installing, using and troubleshooting issues.
- Active Directory Maintenance - Administer and maintain every aspect of active directory i.e., adding, removing user and computer system accounts, user and group shares and permissions, network shares, network printers etc.
- Project Support - Assist other team members implementing new systems.
- Fleet Technology Maintenance and Support - Assist with installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining fleet laptop\tablet computers.
- Administer Building card access system by adding, removing, and changing people’s access as required.

**EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE**:

- University Degree or college diploma in Computer Networking & Technical Support or relevant experience
- Office365 Support
- Experience in a policing environment an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal, project/time management, analytical, communication, presentation, public/media relations, problem-solving skills, with a strong aptitude for adapting to change.
- Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently; determine priorities.
- Exceptional ability to think critically, using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems, determining causes of operating errors and use good judgment and decision-making skills when evaluating potential actions for implementation.
- Exceptional analytical and process skills to assess level of risk when undertaking any activity, find solutions and implement new ideas.
- Skilled researcher with a strong desire to retain up-to-date technological skills and information self-directed with the ability to work independently, as a part of a team and under pressure.
- Significant pro-active customer service skills.
- Availability to respond on call to emergencies as required; and,
- Valid Driver License.
