Police Operations Administrative Clerk

**The Opportunity**:
This position is the first line of contact responsible for providing administrative and operational support to the NCO in Charge and members of the assigned unit. Performs all necessary duties required in the assigned portfolio; disclosure and charge processing duties, maintains and administers assigned unit’s operational and sensitive files, procures supplies and assets, compiles, maintains and audits assets and inventory, liaises with policing units for IT needs, fleet mileage, arranges required fleet maintenance and ensures office machines and other specific police equipment is functioning effectively.
- Grade 12, plus one (1) year post-secondary education from a recognized Administrational Professional program including approved courses in MS Office and Windows.
- Two (2) year experience in the Police, Legal or court setting, to provide a thorough knowledge of Police and Court procedures. A good working knowledge of the Criminal Code, Provincial, Federal Statutes, and Municipal Bylaws, and related documents is required. Previous experience within an investigative unit/team whose primarily function was to investigate major crimes preferred.
- Ability to type at least 55 wpm accurately with mínimal errors.
- Ability to work with others as a positive team player interacting with other members of the investigative team.
- Ability to enter data into a multiple software databases efficiently and accurately. Must have basic knowledge of office procedures, including experience with word processing, spreadsheets and template creation, such as Microsoft Office Suite programs and Adobe, is required.

- Must possess above average communication skills both written and oral when dealing with internal and external stakeholders, professional agencies and the public.
- Must possess above average organizational ability and time management skills to meet stringent deadlines.
- Ability to make quick and accurate on the spot decisions.
- Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision.
- Ability to pass and maintain stringent RCMP Security Clearance prior to and throughout employment. Level of security clearance may depend on assigned portfolio.
- Must be able to function during busy and stressful situations due to numerous interruptions and deadlines.
- Transcription experience is an asset, digital preferred.

**Remuneration**:
$33.18 to $34.92 per hour.
**Hours of Work**:
75 hours biweekly. May be required to work days, evenings and weekends.
