The buyer manages purchase requests, processes orders and ensures to maintain a cordial relationship with customers. He also ensures to keep an appropriate inventory level according to organizational needs. He must interact with all departments of the organization and he exercises a support role.

Operating in a stimulating work environment, your responsibilities will be as follows:
**Purchasing**:

- Issues purchase orders using the inventory report below minimum.
- Performs the conversion of purchase requests into purchase orders.
- Analyzes the quotes received.
- Follows up on purchase orders with suppliers.
- Answers calls from suppliers.
- Follows up with suppliers.
- Participates in requests for quotes.
- Responds to requests from internal customers for purchases.
- Analyzes store item users to determine min-max levels.
- Manages supplier files and follows up with them for deviation issues.
- Analyzes discrepancies versus the purchase order issued daily.
- Participates in the cost reduction project.
- Is responsible for the supply of packaging - carton/pallet/separator for the Boisbriand plant.
- Is responsible for organizing air, sea and land transportation of shipments.
- Creates commercial invoices.

**Qualifications and requirements**:

- DEC in an appropriate field
- 3 years of experience in purchasing or related work
- Mastery of the MS-Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Knowledge of ERP systems (asset) Essential skills required
- Good French (oral and written)
- English - communicate with ease orally and in writing
- Be able to work effectively under tight deadlines
- Priority management
- Sense of urgency
