**Opportunity**: EBC is Canadian Contractor who delivers marquee projects in key markets including waterpower, hydro, underground works, large bridges, mass transit and other major civil works. Work in these markets is delivered in all geographies throughout Canada and should be thought to include not only traditional project delivery but all alternative modes such as DB, DBF, PPP and ECI.

Reporting to the Vice President of Bids and Proposal, the Director of Estimation is fully responsible for leading a group of estimators. He is responsible for making estimates for proposals, bids, and projects in progress (when requested by operations). He is responsible for ensuring that the estimators in his group complete the bids they are working on by the date required for management review.

Work Responsibilities and Duties:
Operational management

1. Supervise estimators

2. Implement, revise, and update data banks

3. Manage bid priorities by considering the divisions strategic direction

4. Establish the bidding schedule

5. Assess workload

6. Identify the risks and constraints of the call for tenders

7. Define the subcontracting strategy

8. Confirm costs related to quantities prepared by estimators

9. Lead the file transfer meeting to operations when the contract is obtained

10. Prepare the bid review

11. Establish lasting contacts with subcontractors and suppliers

12. Participate in meetings for the start-up of service offers and follow-up executive meetings

13. Liaise, communicate, and meet deadlines among stakeholders

14. Ensure the quality of bids

15. Ensure compliance with ISO processes

16. Participate in the closing of bids

17. Be aware of upcoming projects to plan the workload

**Requirements**:
1. Hold a bachelors degree in civil or construction engineering and/or a combination of equivalent experience & training.

2. Be a member of Professional Engineers Ontario;
3. Have a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in estimating major projects and/or urban works.

4. Strong communication skills.

5. Have relevant experience in carrying out large-scale projects of more than $30 million.

6. Be available to work face-to-face.

5. Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project and TPL or other estimation software (a great asset);
