**Here’s the job opportunity**

A business professional in matters associated with life insurance and investment product policyholder taxation and compliance as outlined in the Income Tax Act (ITA), and related laws and regulations.

You will manage the Policyholder Tax (PHT) and Corporate Compliance function, with a specific focus on reviewing policyholder tax calculations, reporting, and related policyholder compliance administration and/or knowledge support. This extends to providing compliance guidance and input in other areas such as Product, Corporate Compliance and Corporate Taxation. This role also requires skills in financial statements and tax documents analysis to assist with tax compliance filings and relevant tax projects including assisting with various tax transformation functions.

**As the Policyholder Tax & Corporate Compliance Manager you will**
- Oversee the service delivery of DXC PHT functions, including managing external relationship following ivari behaviours, supporting the VP Taxation in reviewing all outputs performed by DXC PHT, support the review of policyholder taxation guidelines to ensure compliance with legislative rules and regulations
- Build and maintain adequate communication and oversight on the DXC PHT function to support all aspects of policyholder taxation and compliance in a prompt and accurate manner
- Coordinate all internal and external processes related to year-end policyholder taxation and compliance reporting within ivari teams
- Management of ivari’s policyholder CRA and RQ withholding tax (source deduction) business accounts
- Provide technical research support in relevant knowledge in areas related to policyholder taxation. This includes Corporate related projects involving policyholder tax, i.e., DXC transformation, inter departmental support for marketing team, and pricing team
- Research federal and provincial tax laws and policies, summarize and present findings in a clear and organized manner.
- Participate in industry forums, including committees such as the CLHIA Policyholder Tax Committee
- Analyze financial statements and tax documents to assist with tax compliance filings and relevant tax projects including assisting with various tax accounting and reporting functions.
- Provide support to tax audits including but not limited to FATCA, PHT related and other audit matters

**What we are looking for**
- Completed Canadian and/or US Professional Accounting Designation (CPA)
- Related industry designations (notably LOMA), and or CICA In-depth tax training would be an asset
- Minimum of 3+ years of general corporate and or personal tax experience and 2+ years of policyholder tax experience
- Ability to diagnose and solve complex financial problems
- Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, organized and good attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, focusing on relevant information
