The Research & Data Analyst for Co-operative Education utilizes a project management approach to meet key responsibilities for analysing data sets from multiple sources to develop and maintain reports and data dashboards, and effectively understand co-op student admissions and participation and employer recruitment activity. We are looking for a strong communicator to present findings and communicate this information to management, the co-op team, and other stakeholders. The incumbent will confidently present to non-technical audiences and communicate/propose the next steps for analysis and provide recommendations on troubleshooting data errors, omissions, or inconsistencies.

The Analyst establishes data analysis frameworks to aid in problem-solving approaches, such as optimization for employer recruitment, individual team reporting, and automating data collection for term and annual reporting. The incumbent will provide support and guidance to other team members as it relates to the dashboards, tools, and analysis findings, and provide high quality customer service and user support to all stakeholders, including students, staff, and employers. Upon request of the Co-op management team, the Analyst will also focus on creating additional reports for internal and external stakeholders and supporting cross-college projects and data requests from Co-operative Education.

**Responsibilities**:
**Operations Research**
- Focuses and works on data mining, automating reports, statistical analysis, job posting analytics, student, and employer evaluations by programs with term and annual comparative analysis
- Provides reports on co-op employment vacancy and employment rates by regions and provinces
- Proactively researches data sets to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets from multiple sources for the diagnosis and prediction of all aspects of co-op
- In the absence of the Careers Systems Administrator, provides secondary support to monitor and ensure ongoing successful integration with the Student Information System (SIS)
- Troubleshoots and resolves issues and liaises with IT Services, Registrar’s office, and vendors
- Analyzes hiring employment trends for Conestoga’s Co-op recruitment strategies
- Advises, develops, and manages reporting dashboards and resource pages with content direction and details from management
- Analyzes and presents data from an employer stakeholder perspective for frequency and breadth of engagement from posting to hiring
- Manages dashboards/reports for the Employer Relations team to prospect for co-op job development leads
- Ensures dashboards utilized by staff and management are accurate, current, properly formatted, and stable, links to Orbis database are current, and all documents are maintained as per the reporting protocols
- Proactively plans, evaluates, tests, configures, and documents all reporting processes
- Disseminates reporting information, such as employer and job posting hiring analysis on time to relevant users/stakeholders via the use of notifications, documentation, and training sessions
- Proactively researches data to identify trends and inconsistencies for further analysis and recommends administrative/reporting best practices within the Co-operative Education teams
- Collaborates with the Career Systems Administrator to monitor data quality oversight and protect the integrity of the data
- Engages in data auditing and reporting to ensure system policies and procedures are adhered to

**Collection of Co-op Data for Term Cycles**
- Configures approaches to manage large amounts of data created from co-op processes
- Ensures accurate and on-schedule communications and reporting with the Talent Hub and Co-op Team, employers, and Academic Program stakeholders
- Monitors and facilitates the data collection for Program Advisory Committees, Major Program Reviews, Degree Renewals, and Annual Program Reflections
- Reports data on the economic impact of co-operative education
- Provides guidance and insight to resolve compliance issues or conflictual data representation
- Develops automated reporting with links to data to streamline efficient data collection
- Compiles employer and recognition data based on success metrics and employer evaluation feedback
