The Agri-Innovation Specialist works to foster partnerships across government, the agriculture, food and seafood sector, and other public and private supply chain stakeholders to develop demand-driven business opportunities, accelerate the pace of B.C. food innovation and competitiveness, and deliver services that increase B.C. foods in domestic markets and beyond.

The position facilitates innovative product opportunities, technologies and processes that enhance economic growth, productivity and competitiveness across B.C.

**Job Requirements**:

- A post-graduate degree in a related discipline (agriculture, business, etc.) and a minimum of one year of experience and/or training working in a field of agriculture, value-added food production/processing (pre/post-farm gate), or the food supply chain; OR
- A degree in a related discipline (agriculture, business, etc.) and a minimum of three years experience and/or training working in a field of agriculture, value-added food production/processing (pre/post-farm gate), or the food supply chain; OR An equivalent combination of a minimum of seven years education, training and/or related experience may be considered.A minimum of two years' experience in each of the following:

- Working with stakeholders, developing partnerships, and/or building business relationships.
- Identifying, developing, and managing complex projects or services.
- Gathering, synthesizing, evaluating, and/or interpreting information from diverse sources. Contract management.Preference may be given to applicants with any one or more of the following:

- Experience with school food programs and/or initiatives.
- Experience with public institutional food services, such as health care, post-secondary, K-12 schools and/or supply chain businesses like group purchase organizations, distributors, or brokers.
- Experience with local food purchasing and/or local food value chain development initiatives.
- Experience with technology product management (ex. managing development and/or design and/or delivery of technology tools, using user-centered principles) and/or technology product marketing.
