The Manager of Personal Support and Nursing is a member of the Nursing Leadership Team and will be responsible for daily management and operations of the Nursing Department within The Glebe Centre. Reporting to the Director of Nursing, the Manager of Personal Support and Nursing ensures compliance with legislative requirements (MOHLTC and CNO), oversees and advocates for quality resident centered care and acts as a coach and support to the PSWs and nursing staff to ensure best practices are followed. The Manager of Personal Support and Nursing provides daily supervision of PSW staff. The Manager of Personal Support and Nursing will be responsible for the supervision, guidance, mentoring, and ongoing performance development of Personal Support Leads and Personal Support Workers on day, evening, and night shifts.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Current RPN certificate of competency in good standing from the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Extensive and increasingly responsible experience in Long Term Care
- Well-developed English language skills, oral and written.
- Highly developed communication and leadership skills.

- Comprehensive knowledge of evidence based clinical practices.
- Comprehensive knowledge of long-term care concepts and philosophies
- Proven ability to supervise employees.
- Demonstrate a commitment to courteous customer service. Present a positive and caring attitude in all interactions.
- Demonstrates good interpersonal skills. Maintain a high level of confidentiality and ability to work well with minimum supervision.
- Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment.

**Responsibilities**
- Assist with the development of Nursing Policies and Procedures for resident centred care.
- Ensure compliance with Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care Regulations.
- Provide direction to the Personal Support Worker Leads and Personal Support Workers and to the nursing team ( if needed) in all aspects of resident care.
- In adherence to the Long-Term Care Act, Accreditation and Personal Support Worker (PSW) scope of practice, supervise PSW performance of resident care, services and resources required to deliver quality resident-centered care.
- Collaborate with the Director of Care and Managers to obtain feedback on the specifics or irregularities in Resident care needs.
- Participate in Quality Improvements and Risk Management activities.
- Review workload and resident acuity with care teams to determine efficient use of resources; and recommend changes/additions to the Director of Care.
- Meet regularly with PSW’s, communicating changes, education, mentoring and expectations.
- Investigate resident care concerns and complaints.
- Make regular and frequent tours of the facility, with particular focus on employee work areas. Ensures appropriate/prudent use of equipment and supplies.
- Ensure adherence to all Glebe Centre policies, procedures, and practices, including those related to Safety and Risk Management.
- Build relationships with families and significant others to improve resident outcomes.
- Participate with internal committees as required.

**Hours of Work**:Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week. At times, overtime may be required. Overtime is taken as time-in-lieu and approved in advance. This is a non-union management position and is a full time permanent position in a leadership role.

Pay: $68,250.00-$78,000.00 per year
