**Purpose**

Green Haven Shelter for Women provides safety, shelter, and meaningful alternatives for individuals who experience gender-based violence and abuse to support a foundation for change and opportunities for the future. The Manager, Fund Development and Communications will expand on the GHSW Strategic Plan to raise more unrestricted funds to deliver the critical services and programs that Green Haven Shelter for Women provides in Orillia and surrounding communities. Green Haven Shelter for Women is currently seeking an experienced and skilled Fund Development and Communications professional. This is an exciting and demanding full-time position that involves a high degree of collaboration and teamwork. Reporting to the Executive Director and working closely with the Board of Directors’ Fundraising Committee, the Manager, Fund Development and Communications supports the agency’s strategic plans in its approach to fund development.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Promote Green Haven Shelter for Women's vision, mission and values, and work with diverse communities, businesses, and government agencies to support development activities and promote awareness of the organization.
- Identify fundraising trends and evaluate current initiatives to ensure a high degree of innovation and quality in fundraising programs and events.
- Research, develop new funding initiatives, explore and execute new strategic partnerships with other community stakeholders based on the GHS Strategic Plan. These new strategic partnerships will allow the organization to amplify their voice against violence against women and raise much needed unrestricted funding.
- Prospect identification, to increase GHWS donor base
- Develop online campaigns, direct mail campaigns
- Grow current fundraising events
- Manage effective social media campaigns
- Develop and provide training workshops and presentations for community groups, businesses and other partners.
- Design and develop marketing materials for awareness-building and community engagement.
- Publicize the activities of the Shelter, its programs, goals and service-offerings through social media, newsletters and other awareness campaigns and events.
- Design and help execute community awareness campaigns.
- Design and provide content for monthly newsletters.
- Other duties as required.

**Qualifications**

Education: Post-secondary degree or diploma in event management, marketing and fundraising or equivalent experience is preferred. Three + years of professional and related experience in Marketing and Communications, Fund Development and Event Planning is preferred. Membership in the AFP is considered an asset. Vulnerable Sector Screening is required.

Ability to anticipate, understand, respond, and work collaboratively with volunteers and internal and external constituents.
- Experience with event development and execution.
- Experience in donor cultivation and stewardship
- Experience developing and delivering professional presentations and working/building relationships with diverse community stakeholders.
- Demonstrated problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated project management, development of workplans and critical paths to ensure timely and successful results.
- Superior financial and time management skills.
- Ability to participate and contribute to a strong team environment with an inclusive and collaborative approach; work as a team player and to facilitate and mobilize support with attention to safety and awareness considerations at the Shelter.
- Ability to be resourceful, flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work under mínimal supervision and exercise sound judgement.
- Superior customer service, interpersonal, written/oral communication, and facilitation skills.
