Recreation Technician for Forestry Campsites

Contract period: May to December.
- **Duties** mainly involve preparation of material and inventory organization, permit auditing, data tracking and weekly visits on forestry campsites. Occasional duties of landscaping and helping the Maintenance Team. Must be in good health, physically fit and proficient with web protocols, Word and Excel. Half of the time will be spent on the field, the other half can be worked from home. Work vehicle provided when necessary.
- **Complete training and ongoing support will be provided** during the employment.
- The Assistant is **required** to be able to cover a campsite overnight in case of emergency and during May long weekend May 17-18 (initiation to the field experience). Having a camper van or similar is a plus, regular camping gear is accepted but not ideal.
- This company **provides work year-round in the Silviculture & Forestry industry**, might be possibility to add hours to the established schedule if desired. All operations are shut down from mid-December to mid-January, regular forestry operations starting back around mid-Feb & March, campsites field operations running from March-April to September-October.
This person will work hand in hand with the Maintenance Supervisor and the Campsites Manager year-round. This team is **in charge of 15 forestry campsites **located on South and Central Vancouver Island.
The **onboarding process required** for this position includes submitting a clean Criminal Check Record, a clean Driver Abstract, and some online certifications such as WHMIS, FOIPPA and Resource Road Driving Knowledge. All fees will be covered.
