We're currently looking for a Layout Supervisor to join our exciting new 3D production

**Responsibilities**:

- Execute the creative direction set by the Director
- Maintain the technical standards set by the CG Supervisor
- Work collaboratively with rigging and modeling departments to ensure the transition of proxy builds for animation assets is accurate and efficient
- Assign sequences to layout team and manage progress
- Lead layout team in execution of camera lensing and staging, composition and blocking of scenes from storyboard Leica.
- Ensure shot continuity
- Anticipate, identify, communicate, and troubleshoot any creative or technical issues with assistance from key stakeholders
- Complete assigned sequences within scheduled timeframe

- Communicate expectations to layout team while balancing creative objectives with the requirements of Production Schedule
- Oversee the daily activities of the layout team
- Provide training and guidance where needed based on procedures set out by the CG Supervisor and appropriate TD’s
- Provide performance feedback to their team and to Production
- Foster and enable communication and collaboration across departments

**Qualifications**:

- Demonstrated leadership ability
- 5+ years of experience as a layout artist
- Degree/diploma in fine arts or animation or equivalent experience
- Proficiency with standard industry software (eg. Maya)
- Excellent knowledge of cinematic language and camera terminology
- Basic modeling and rigging is an asset
- Ability to interpret storyboards and realize them in a 3D environment
- Firm understanding of cameras, staging, composition, perspective, pacing, timing and cinematography concepts in animation context
- Excellent team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Able to effectively give direction
- Proactive work ethic, capable problem solver with the ability to implement solutions
- Able to prioritize and manage time efficiently
- Be a positive and creative force on the team
- Thrive in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented environment
- Be able to adapt to multiple animation styles
- Must be open to direction and able to embrace change
- Excellent at communicating creative and technical thoughts and ideas in a positive, professional manner
