**Caretaker**:
**Primary Purpose**: To provide cleaning services to the University of Saskatchewan campus with a focus on exceeding the expectations of students, faculty, administration, and visitors.

**Typical Duties or Accountabilities**: Performs cleaning tasks as assigned, included but not limited to floors, use of dry and wet mops, brooms, vacuum cleaners, automatic scrubbing machines and other caretaking staff; provides cleaning services in all areas as required to cover absences of other caretaking staff; reports building deficiencies; secures the building after hours; provide efficient, courteous customer service to the University of Saskatchewan community and visiting public when circumstances require. Setting up rooms and reading floor plans for upcoming events is required.

**Education**: Completion of Grade 10. Completion of Grade12 will be considered an asset. A current acceptable criminal record check is required.

**Experience**: Caretaking and/or cleaning experience in an institutional setting will be considered an asset. Experience working safely with chemicals and power cleaning equipment. Customer and teamwork experience essential.

**Skills**: Basic English reading, verbal and written communication skills at the appropriate level for the position; effective interpersonal and communication skills; attention to work well independently and with others as part of a team; demonstrated ability to adapt to changing tasks and work environments; physical requirements such as being able to lift and move 30lbs, and standing, walking, bending, moving for extended periods of time; and time management.
