Lead Parts Technician

**1. JOB PURPOSE**:
The Lead Parts Technician plays an essential role to the production team as they spearhead all parts processes to ensure seamlessness, organization, and coordination with all parts throughout the repair process. By ensuring all parts are properly ordered, delivered, and distributed, the Lead Parts Technician aids in customer satisfaction by keeping delivery dates accurate.

**3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Price matching and ordering parts with various vendors
- Creating connections with vendors and delivery personnel
- Support the mirror matching process when parts arrive
- Oversee damage control for arriving parts
- Accept all parts invoices in the management system
- Communicate with team members about any discrepancies on new and incoming parts and troubleshoot accordingly
- Do regular checks (2-3 times daily) on jobs in process to make sure all parts have arrived and incoming vehicles have parts ordered/delivered
- Order any supplemental parts or parts that were delivered wrong, keeping in mind insurance company guidelines
- Handle all returns in a timely manner
- Lead the parts department in the seamless coordination of all related responsibilities
- Update customers with non driveable vehicles on parts ETAs

**4. WORKING CONDITIONS**:

- Employees may be required to work in potentially hazardous environments requiring personal protective equipment
- Employees may be exposed to dust, hazardous chemicals and high levels of noise
- Employees may be exposed to uncomfortable work settings; may have long combinations of standing, crouching, or sitting
- Repetitive tasks within a fast-paced environment
- Overtime as required

**5. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE**:
**EDUCATION**
- High School Diploma
- Related technical education
- Journeyperson Parts Technician

**EXPERIENCE**
- Experience working in a parts technician/supervisory role
- Experience working with automotive parts in a related role is considered an asset

**SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE**
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to lead a team and efficiently problem solve
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Must be able to carry and move equipment and/or supplies in excess of 25 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills
