The Business Rule Engine (BRE) team is a key workstream of the Application Modernization Program (AMP), and this agile product team is responsible for designing, developing and delivering a new business rules management system. This is an established team that is comprised of a Product Manager, 2 Business Owners, a Service Designer, Full Stack Developers, Senior Scrum Master, Senior User Experience and a Business Analyst that work together to serve the social sector's current and future needs.
**The Role**
This position will be fully dedicated to the BRE product team and will attend and actively participate in daily stand-ups and scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives. In addition to the responsibilities outlined in the job profile, this position will:
- Work closely with the UX Designer to conduct research to uncover end-user behaviours, needs and motivations to ensure the BRE product is responsive
- Assist with mapping/developing business rules and processes, and recommend refinements where applicable
- Assist in developing communications materials related to BRE product design, development and implementation
- Take a lead role for BRE knowledge management, including maintaining the product team’s knowledge management system and working with the core team and others to develop/refine and implement procedures, training and guidance materials related to knowledge management
**Qualifications**:
**Education and Experience Requirements**
- Bachelor’s degree in a computer science field and 2 years of related experience; **OR**:
- Diploma in a computer science field and 3 years related experience; **OR**:
- Certificate or coursework in a computer science field and 4 years related experience; **OR**:
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Related experience must include:
- Experience providing business analysis services.
- Experience working on an agile product team
- Experience with mapping business processes
- Experience working in a social sector environment
- Service or UX design training
- Agile/scrum training
