As a Jordan's Principle Youth Support Worker, the primary responsibility of this role is to assist Service Coordinators in completing intakes and providing support to clients in navigating various resources within the service region areas, spanning from Duncan to Bowser. Additionally, the Youth Support Worker will provide administrative assistance to the ARC Administrator, including invoicing and shopping for products twice a week.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Support Service Coordinators**: Assist Service Coordinators with completing intakes for clients, ensuring all necessary information is accurately documented and processed in a timely manner
- **Client Support**: Provide guidance and support to clients in navigating available resources within the service region areas, offering assistance in accessing essential services and programs as needed
- **Administrative Support**: Aid the ARC administrator with administrative tasks, including but not limited to invoicing, data entry, filing, and correspondence management
- **Shopping Duties**: Responsible for purchasing necessary products and supplies twice a week, ensuring all items are obtained efficiently and within budget constraints
- **Communication**: Maintain effective communication with team members, clients, and external stakeholders, fostering positive relationships and ensuring the smooth flow of information
- **Documentation**: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions, service provision, and administrative tasks, adhering to confidentiality and privacy guidelines
- **Team Collaboration**: Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless service delivery and contribute to the overall success of the organization's mission and objectives.
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum post-secondary education in social work, psychology, or a related field is preferred
- Previous experience in a similar role, particularly in providing support services to youth and families, is advantageous
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to empathize, communicate effectively, and build rapport with diverse populations
- Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize workload effectively
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle is required
- Understanding of Jordan's Principle and its significance in Indigenous child welfare is desirable
**Working Conditions**:
- This position involves regular travel within the service region areas from Duncan to Bowser
- Some flexibility in working hours may be required to accommodate client needs and organizational priorities.
Pay: $26.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
