**THE ROLE**
Keep our Canadian Armed Forces operationally ready and their families and military community healthy as part of the team at Personnel Support Programs. Personnel Support Programs contributes to the operational readiness of our Canadian Armed Forces through the provision of fitness, sports, recreation and health promotion programs to military communities across Canada and members while on deployment.

The Editor will manage the layout of the newspaper, ensure timing of production and accuracy of content and advertising; review, evaluate and edit articles, news reports and other material for publication; liaise with Public Affairs and Base Units to obtain story ideas and solicit content; write various news and feature stories with accompanying photos; ensure stories and photos meet quality, content and deadline standards; etc.

**QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED** Education, Certifications and Licenses**

High school diploma AND several years of experience in journalism, communication, public relations or in a related field

**Experience**
- In collecting information through interviews and analyzing
- In verifying copy for accuracy
- In writing articles following journalism guidelines

**Competencies, Skills and Abilities**

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

**LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS**
English Essential / Bilingual an asset

Reading: Advanced

Writing: Functional

Oral: Advanced
