ScotiaSTART is a two day, in-person conference in downtown Toronto. The top competitive and driven students from across Canada will be provided with the opportunity to build their network, participate in workshops, hear from business leaders, and secure their Summer 2024 internship That’s right you read that correctly. The successful students invited to attend the ScotiaSTART conference are guaranteed a Summer 2024 internship at Scotiabank or Tangerine.

This is not a drill. We are on a serious mission to find the best and brightest students across Canada

Global Banking and Markets provides a full range of credit, risk management and investment banking products and services relevant to the financing and strategic development needs of our clients. Our products include investment banking, mergers & acquisitions, corporate banking, institutional equity sales, trading and research, debt products, derivatives, foreign currencies, and commodities. We also cross-sell the full range of wholesale products and services offered by Scotiabank.

The Capital Markets, Sales & Trading Summer Internship is a four-month position at Scotiabank Global Banking and Markets that is designed to introduce students to the stimulating and dynamic environment of wholesale sales & trading. In this role you’ll gain experience in assisting the Sales, Trading and Structuring staff on the trade floor in the execution of their day-to-day functions, assisting in preparing client pitches and presentations, preparing daily market commentary, providing timely client support, and so much more

**Do you have the skills and requirements that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We’d love to work with you if**:

- You are currently enrolled in post-secondary education and are graduating in 2025.
- You are able to attend the conference on June 9th and 10th, 2023.
- You will be available for a Summer 2024 internship/co-op.
- You love to learn and envision yourself working for an international organization that heavily invests in your future.
- You have a demonstrated interest and knowledge in the financial markets
- You have a proven record of outstanding achievement in academic and extracurricular activities
- You have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment
- You have the ability to overcome challenges presented by a constantly changing work environment
- Having a working knowledge of VBA, Python or other programming languages is a bonus
