**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Receives instructions, prints and work orders.
- Interprets drawings and sketches, plans and determines working procedures. Performs layout work and sketches of parts as required.
- Calculates and determines dimensions, tapers, indices and other data using shop formulas and handbooks as necessary.
- Selects and grinds tools for the job in accordance with hardness machine ability and other properties of parts to be machined.
- Procures or makes jigs, fixtures, or machine attachments required for the job.
- Sets up and operates machine tools, adjusting stops, feeds and speeds for efficient machining.
- Machines parts to precision tolerances and specific finishes.
- Does minor welding, burning and pipefitting jobs as required.
- Receives instructions, drawings, and work order for jobs. Interprets drawings, plans the details for the working procedure and selects tools and materials required.
- Uses precision measuring instruments.
- Uses PMIS system for ordering materials and tools required.
- Inspects new parts for tolerances.
- Uses torches and basic piping tools to perform machine shop work when required.
- Assembles, fits, aligns and adjusts machinery and equipment to very close tolerances.
- Keeps the immediate working area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Observes all safety rules.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS**
- **Red Seal Certification: General Machinist 429A **MANDATORY**:

- Bilingual: English and French (oral and written) **preferred
- Criminal background check

- Schedule: Monday to Friday - 8hrs shift / 40 hour workweek
