Job description:
Overview:
The Instructor provides an enriching learning environment for students by using holistic and career-oriented teaching methods. By maintaining an organized and structured classroom environment, the Instructor helps ensure that students are progressing effectively. The administration of assignments, tests, projects and exams will help students stay engaged and provide the Instructor with an accurate gauge of student success. The Instructor works under the guidance and supervision of the Campus Director.

Responsibilities and Duties:
The instructor will guide, coach, and support students to be successful in their healthcare career. This will require that they be able to create an effective adult learning environment and actively teaching the curriculum as outlined by the college in an ethical way.

Academic
- Ensure students are taught in accordance with the approved curriculum (training to be provided)
- Foster a collaborative and team-focused environment to optimize academic success.

Administrative
- Assist with monitoring student attendance.
- Implement and follow the policies and procedures established by the college.
- Attend staff meetings, as required.
- Participate in student orientation procedures.
- Maintain proper records of student interactions.
- Complete and submit monthly student progress reports.

Instructional
- Instruct students using established curriculum consisting of lectures, demonstrations, discussion groups, interactive activities, etc.
- Competently inform students of program evaluation guidelines.
- Strictly adhere to set classroom schedule.
- Adjust instruction techniques to meet the needs of students.
- Assist students in the development of efficient learning skills and study habits.
- Ensure all course objectives/modules are taught in accordance with program schedule.
- Establish classroom atmosphere which is conducive to learning.
- Maintain fair, firm, and consistent disciplinary measures.
- Regularly monitor student progress; provide relevant feedback regarding performance.
- Keep accurate and complete records of student performance.

Other
- Maintain professional registration through your governing body.
- Other duties as assigned by Campus Director.

Qualifications and Experience
- Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with current registration and no practice restrictions with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
- Minimum of two (2) years current, relevant work experience in a Canadian clinical environment preferably in a long-term care/community/chronic care setting.
- Meet Instructor qualification standards as outlined in the Regulations to Private Career Colleges Act, 2005.
- Knowledge of the NACC's Personal Support Worker program curriculum is an asset.

Details:
Compensation: commensurate on experience. We thank all applicants for their interest. However, only those who meet the qualifications will be contacted for an interview.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 7 months

Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay

**Experience**:
