QM’s four business lines include Demolition and Decommissioning, Hazardous Materials Abatement, Environmental Remediation including Civil Earthworks, and Emergency Management & Environmental Response Services.

**We are seeking a skilled and reliable full-time Insulator at our Strathcona Refinery Project Location in Edmonton, AB.**

**This is a short-term contract for 8 months.**

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Measure and cut insulation materials to fit pipes accurately.
- Install insulation materials around pipes, fittings, and valves.
- Secure insulation using appropriate fasteners, adhesive, or cladding.
- Ensure proper alignment and sealing to prevent heat loss or condensation.
- Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to determine insulation requirements.
- Use hand tools such as saws, knives, and tape measures to perform insulation tasks.
- Safely handle and transport insulation materials and tools.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area.
- May work along the other crews, with the potential of doing asbestos work.

**QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND KEY COMPETENCIES**

**Education/Experience**:

- Grade 12 is an asset.
- Previous experience in pipe insulation or a related field is required.
- Knowledge of insulation materials and techniques.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to safety regulations.
- Ability to lift and handle materials.
- Ability to walk down jobs, measure them and let the supervisor know what’s required.
- Having a valid Driver’s License and vehicle would be an asset

**Abilities**:

- Able to work long hours, overtime and possible weekend work in various weather conditions
- Willing and able to work away from home for lengthy periods of time.
- English language - verbal, reading and written
- Must be able to lift 25-50 Lbs.
- Be fit for work every day
- Able to wear all required PPE (hard hat, respirator, Tyvek suit, steel-toed boots)
- Be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening test

**WORK ENVIRONMENT**
- Working at an industrial site.
- Working outdoors in the elements all year.
- Potential of working in tight, muddy, snowy areas.
