JOB SUMMARY
As the Splicer, you will read and interpret work orders to ensure timely and accurate assembly by maintaining quality assurance; including proficiently measuring, cutting, splicing, rolling, coiling, and assembling various materials into finished products following all applicable instructions, policies and procedures as provided by Ben-Mor Cables Inc.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate machinery including cable press machine to splice, weld and assemble wire, rope, chain and cable products;
- Read and interpret work orders to ensure accuracy and quality of assembly; including proficiently measuring, cutting, splicing, rolling, coiling, manipulating, and assembling various chain slings, sling hooks, wire rope slings and non-rotating cables, etc.;
- Inspect and maintain the equipment daily as per manufacturers recommendations (i.e., cable press machine, chop saw, hydraulic cutter or damaged or worn parts as required);
- Monitor and report on machine operation to detect problems, such as defects in the chain, coated cable, wire and ropes, or machine malfunction;
- Accurately record the materials used, maintenance performed, and number of pieces completed during each shift, with focus on maintaining these metrics within production targets;
- Maintain a safe environment for employees and visitors by complying with the Company’s safety standards, policies, and procedures (i.e., report concerns/incidents, wearing personal protective equipment, good housekeeping of work area(s), etc.);
- Perform other related tasks and functions as required by the dictates of the business needs relative to the nature of the position.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of three (3) years of production and/or manufacturing experience;
- Previous experience with machine operating is considered a strong asset;
- Familiarity with measurements, measuring tools and interpreting and following instructions;
- Strong math skills;
- Excellent time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills;
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Manual dexterity and strong attention to detail;
- Capability to work effectively and safely in a fast-paced and changing environment;
- Must be professional, punctual, reliable and demonstrate a willingness to learn;
- Must have ability to regularly lift, lower, carry, push and pull up to 50lbs with rotation;
- Must be physically capable of working in various positions for lengthy periods of time (sit, bend, squat, kneel, stand)

POSITION CONDITIONS
- Permanent, full-time position;
- Repetitive work requiring various position(s);
- Ability to lift, lower, carry, push and pull up to 50lbs with rotation is required.
