We currently have an opportunity available for a temporary full-time **Registered Dietitian in the Renal Program **. This position is covering a maternity leave until April 2026.

**How Registered Dietitian support our teams at Grand River Hospital**:

- The Registered Dietitian is an active and essential member of the interdisciplinary health care team. The incumbent is responsible for the nutritional care of outpatients in the renal program. This may include patients in the renal clinic as well as patients on renal replacement therapy (both hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis) that may receive their therapy in-centre, at one of GRH’s satellite units or at home (home visits are an important part of the provision of care). This position works primarily out of the Guelph Satellite Unit but may also work at the KW and/or Freeport Campuses.
- Duties include provision of appropriate nutrition therapy including comprehensive nutritional assessment, development and implementation of nutrition care plans which includes nutrition education and some nutrition support, while working within an interdisciplinary team. Additional responsibilities may include actively participating in quality improvement initiatives, being a contributing member of quality council(s) and the mentoring of dietetic practicum students.
- Contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.

- Registered Dietitian, membership in the College of Dietitians of Ontario.
- Knowledge of formal and informal community services and resources an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, problem solve and respond to competing, unscheduled demands.
- Experience and skill in complex decision making processes, advancing best practice initiatives, and exploration of innovative models of care.
- Strong counselling skills and understand of patient engagement philosophies.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Self-directed, organized, and diplomatic.
- Patient navigation focused.
- Demonstrated ability to function independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience with quality improvement an asset.
- Good computer skills.
- Excellent attendance, punctuality, and work performance record
