The Ministry of the Solicitor General, Ontario Provincial Police, and the Commander of Business Management Bureau are seeking a qualified member to work within the Procurement Services Section to provide services and support pertaining to procurement and contract management to internal clients. To design and oversee the internal procurement process within the OPP to ensure compliance and controllership in accordance with the OPS Procurement Directive. To monitor and advise clients on procurement contracts, monitor contract financial data, administer and track contract records and budget expenditure activities, and prepare reports for management and Solicitor General. To ensure continuity of operations based on contract terms, such as monitoring when contract renewals are required and to oversee the approval process.

**This Talent Pool will fill three (3) permanent full time positions, and all future permanent and temporary positions.**

- Ability to pass an OPP background/ security investigation.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Knowledge of supply and contract management principles and practices; procurement policies, directives, guidelines and procedures; and relevant vendors of records, to provide advice and interpretation to client managers and staff on the procurement process, including supply options, and an understanding and of the development of RFx documents and resulting contracts.
- Ability to exercise planning and organizational methods, processes and techniques to coordinate contract management and procurement assignments; and to track and report on contracts.
- Oral and interpersonal skills to provide advice and information to client managers and staff, respond to their questions, and promote a fair and transparent procurement process; to update management on the status of procurement projects; to convey requirements to vendors; and to participate on committees and project teams.
- Written communication skills to prepare correspondence, routing slips, reports, training and reference materials, and other procurement-related documents.
- Ability to conduct research and guide clients on the documentation of materials and ability to ensure accuracy and completeness of information, ensuring compliance with directives.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and to use diplomacy, tact when resolving conflicts.
- Ability to prioritize and effectivley use of time management strategies.
