Skid Steer Operator

BMC paving is a paving and hardscape company based out of Cambridge Ontario. We have over 35 years of experience providing paving services and we proudly serve the KW area in concrete services.

The people we have working with us are some of the most experienced paving contractors in the industry in Ontario. We pride ourselves offering concrete and paving services across the greater Kitchener Waterloo region.

**Responsibilities**:

- Operate skid steer to move materials such as asphalt, dirt, debris, and other items as needed. As well as level, grade, and excavate areas for construction projects.
- Work with the Field Supervisor and staff to meet work contract deadlines and coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment, such as changing fluids and lubricating parts.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on the skid steer to ensure it is in safe working condition.
- Perform on-site job duties along with your crew members; setting up grades, preparing areas, milling, raking, luting, rolling and general labour.
- Perform all duties in compliance with safe work practices, policies, procedures and government regulations.
- A willingness to make changes to achieve improvements.
- All other duties as needed.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 1 years of operating a skid steer, preferably within the asphalt/construction industry.
- Experience operating other equipment (excavators, asphalt rollers) would be a bonus.
- Documentation knowledge of: driver logs; pre-trip and post-trip inspections; maintenance and repair reports; and trip reports.
- Ability to follow safe working procedures.
- Excellent observation skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and with little supervision.

Work will be Monday to Friday, with weekend dates when needed (not often)

Contract length: 3 months

**Salary**: $32.00-$40.00 per hour
