Crisis Intervention Worker

**Chez Doris **is looking for on-call crisis intervention worker who will work with the team to ensure that each woman who walks through our doors feels safe, respected and welcomed and that services are in keeping with Chez Doris' mission: to welcome vulnerable women into the day shelter and provide them with clothing, hygiene products, meals and access to social, recreational and health services. They also provide active listening when needed, all without judgment, and do crisis intervention.
**Availability**: A minimum of six (6) possible shifts per month. Shifts are offered 7 days a week, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. to 8:30 a.m.
Salary starting at 19$.

**If you have**:
- Relevant education or training in social work, psychology or social sciences;
- Some experience working and/or interning in a similar organization/community;
- A broad knowledge of homelessness, mental health and substance abuse issues and resources;
- An interest in indigenous cultures and traditions, or relevant experience working with indigenous populations.
**If you are**:
- Bilingual (English and French);
- You have an exceptional talent for working with people;
- An ability to remain calm, focused, and attentive to detail and ;
- Able to multi-task and adapt quickly.
*Bilingualism is mandatory for this position as 70% of Chez Doris' clientele is English speaking.
