Century Mile Racetrack and Casino is looking for an Race Labourer 3 to enhance our track maintenance team.

**Must have a flexible availability.**

- Ability to carry out responsibilities with limited supervision

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Performs duties in compliance with safety procedures, which includes the use of safety equipment. Workers are responsible for following safety procedures, identifying unsafe practices or conditions and informing their supervisor of unsafe conditions.
- Completes all scheduled maintenance, upkeep, and cleaning duties assigned to this position within the daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi and annual inspection reports.
- Work as a team player under the guidance of the Racing Department Management
- Adhere to all Century policy and procedures.
- Be able to take on the responsibilities of track maintenance (harrowing, watering, etc) as instructed.
- Assess equipment breakdowns and emergencies and coordinate their resolutions.
- Work with Track Superintendent and Management to ensure that stable area policies are being adhered to.
- Assist the Racing Labourer I & II as required or directed by Management.
- Operates equipment as per Health and Safety Standards.
- Work with outside contractors and suppliers: tractor repairs, dirt, sand, fibre for tracks.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

Demonstrated experience in performing maintenance and labor duties in a similar environment. Proven ability in performing tasks within specific deadlines and under pressure where problem solving, troubleshooting, organizing and prioritizing work is required.

**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**

High School Diploma. A combination of education and experience may be considered. Previous maintenance and/ or labor position experiences are considered an asset. Knowledge of racing or horse industry preferred. Experience operating the grader, heavy equipment such as forklift, tractor, and water truck preferred. Experience and/or general knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, painting, etc. is preferred.

**CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS**

Valid Driver’s License with clear drivers abstract required. Basic first aid and fire prevention training considered an asset. Must be able to pass a criminal background check. Certificate or ticket in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or mechanical considered an asset.

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, and to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Essential duties require lifting 50 or more pounds; and working a standard workweek with additional hours on a routine basis.

**WORK ENVIRONMENT**

Essential duties involve working with large numbers of people in either an inside/outside environment, which is frequently loud or containing high noise levels.

Heavy equipment, forklift, tractor, water truck, etc.
