Caseworker

The Caseworker is responsible to provide treatment consultation to the residential team and to provide direct counselling services to youth and their families. The Caseworker has the primary role in ensuring communication between the agency and the referring worker and the child’s family. The Caseworker is directly responsible to the Director of Clinical Services.
**Responsibilities**:
- To take a lead role in the admission process, assessment and service planning process, and discharge planning for residents through a collaborative approach with the residential staff, education program, family, youth, and referring case manager
- To complete the required written assessment reports, progress reports, and discharge reports as outlined in the agency’s service planning policy and to coordinate regular planning meetings with the involved parties
- To communicate critical information to the youth’s family and referring worker in a timely manner
- To provide training to staff that will enhance their understanding of the various therapeutic intervention options and the youth’s and family’s needs
- To provide individual counselling and group sessions to youth and to provide or arrange for family counselling where appropriate
- To make referrals to other required therapeutic services, such as psychiatric or psychological services, when indicated appropriate
- To facilitate the youth’s attendance to and preparation for court when required
- To act as an advocate for quality, ethical services for youth and their families
- To learn and operate by the agency’s Code and Ethics, philosophy, policies, and procedures
**Qualifications**:
The Caseworker will have a Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the mandate and experience working with youth and families. Knowledge of First Nations culture, values, and beliefs is an asset. Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry Check, and valid class 5 driver’s license are required.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: $29.21-$37.46 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
