**Casual Part-Time (Relief) ECE Assistants**

**EarlyON Child and Family Centre**

**Hourly Pay Rate: $16.4098 - 20.7206**

The George Hull EarlyON Child and Family Centre offers programs to parents and their young children, from birth to six years of age, in five locations across central and north Etobicoke. Programs include group learning activities, parent and child drop-in programs, specialized registered programs, parent workshops, community events, supportive referrals and support for families with children who have special needs.

**Reporting to the Program Manager, this individual will**:

- Assist the Program Worker in developing high quality programs for infants, toddlers and preschool children.
- Participate in creative activities, circle time and all other aspects of the program.
- Ensure that a safe and stimulating environment is maintained at all times of program operation.
- Facilitate parents/caregiver interaction with their children in positive and appropriate ways.
- Assist the Program Worker in preparation and clean up of all playroom activities.(i.e. Paint stations, water play, play dough).
- Assist in the preparing and serving of a healthy snack.
- Ensure that all health, safety and cleanliness standards are followed.
- Model and promote positive social interaction.

**Required Qualifications**:

- Previous experience working with children and families.
- Familiar with the ages and stages of development in children ages birth to six years.
- Experience working in a multi-ethnic community.
- Use of own vehicle/valid driver’s license.

**Hours of Work**:

- This individual will work on an occasional basis when needed

**An Asset**:

- Early Childhood Assistant Certificate
- Previous experience working with children with additional or special needs.
- Knowledge of North and Central Etobicoke
- Current First Aid and CPR Certification
