French Tutor/teacher

**Position**: Part-Time Teachers/Tutors for French

Selis Learning Academy is a vibrant and innovative educational institution dedicated to providing a high-quality STREAM (Science, Technology, Robotics, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) education to students in grades 1-12. Located in the heart of Burnaby, BC, our academy fosters a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and creatively. Our mission is to inspire a love of learning and help students excel in a supportive and engaging environment. Selis Learning Academy also provides homeschooling support for families.

**Responsibilities**
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons in French.
- Prepare lesson plans and educational materials in line with the curriculum.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development sessions.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and technologies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the continuous improvement of the academy's educational programs.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning experience.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Proven experience teaching students in grades 1-12.
- Strong knowledge of the BC curriculum and educational standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and digital tools.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth.
- Experienced fourth-year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
- Valid BC teaching certification is an asset but not required.
- Must be able to commute to the Burnaby location.
