Maplesoft Group is currently seeking a Security Design Specialist (Level 3) for our Federal Government client.

The following responsibilities are associated with the “Statement of Work” but are not limited to:
Primary Responsibilities
- Understand and work in an environment that involves Cisco networking equipment: specifically involving Catalyst 3560 Switches, Cisco 3850 Switches, Catalyst 9300 Switches, ASA 5525, ASA 5555, Symmetricom S250, MicroSemi S650, ISR 4331 / 4351, Fortinet and F5 Networks Devices.
- Routing and Switching, Networks Security Principles, Various Service Firewall, Cisco ASA, Fortinet, Load balancers, etc.
- Gather appropriate requirements, and work with various clients and stakeholders for the delivery of network solutions.
- Perform level 2 and 3 support of the GCSI infrastructure, fulfilling duties related to a network operations capacity, as well as some exposure to server operations.
- Troubleshoot issues on existing infrastructure, migrations, upgrades, evergreening, net new installations, cabling, etc
- Training of existing full-time resources for regular use, maintenance, and integration of the overall solution.
- Provide guidance, prepare and deliver end-user training to clients on the replacement IT infrastructure operation and services.
- Review standard operating procedures, and coordinate work in relation to writing, maintaining, and enhancing documentation.
- Contribute and participate in the implementation of new technologies, as well as liaise with respective enterprise engineering teams when required.
- Design, implement, and provide recommendations of overall security design solutions on relevant Government of Canada projects.
- Review, and deliver high level architectural designs.
- Perform engineering operations, and complete implementations of Government of Canada information security solutions that are in line with CSEC ITSG-33 service security standards, as well as the Security Assessment and Authorization (SA&A) requirements.
- Inventory, license, install, troubleshoot, and document IT infrastructure as it related to the replacement of legacy network and telephone infrastructure.
- Perform hardware certification, and implement new technologies within a classified data center environment.
- Prepare implementation plans / build documents for particular technologies.
- Follow ITSM practices, review standard operating procedures, and complete work in relation to writing, maintaining, and enhancing documentation.
- Participate in non-production staging and development cycles, progress to build the production system, and transition knowledge/workload to staff from an existing operations team both during and post-production implementation.
- Attend regular meetings, plan, coordinate, assess and track work activities / incidents.
- Provide support, assistance, and recommendations to other team members.
- Participate as a member on projects in discussions with colleagues, clients, technical advisors, managers and suppliers in order to explain or resolve technical issues.
- Works alongside the following units:

- Deployments, providing HQ support for deployments on the road, as well as internal deployment planning.
- Server Operations teams, which work in an environment that involves Windows/Linux OS, VMWare, NAS, SAN, Backups, AD, IDM, various security support tools, help desk functions, change management process, etc.

**Requirements**:

- Resource must be available for 7.5 hour within business hours (7:00-18:00), Monday to Friday
- Resource must be willing to work full time on site within a classified security zone.
- Resource must posses a valid secret clearance, as well as Canadian citizenship status.
