Child and Youth Worker

**Position within youth group residential care.**

We believe in our youth and their resilience. Our staff teams are encouraged to develop trusting relationships with our youth through fun and creative activities as well as spending time in the community engaged in kid friendly activities, such as swimming, boating, picnics, hikes, bowling, trampoline parks, movies, and much more. We are not looking for baby sitters or early childhood educators. We need strong and determined CYC's committed to supporting the positive change required for our youth to succeed.
- Assess clients' relevant skill strengths and development needs
- Provide crisis intervention
- Resolve conflict situations
- Supervise activities of five clients living in a group home setting, 2 or 3 staff members to 5 youth
- Daily house keeping tasks, such as cleaning, laundry, garbage/recycling and yard work. Staff also need to cook and bake.
- Supervise visits between youth and parents to ensure their safety
- Implement social, emotional, life skills and behaviour management programs
- Conduct individual and group counselling sessions
- Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of treatment programs
- Assist clients/guests with special needs
- Accompany clients to appointments and social outings
- Ability to work shift work including sleep overnight shifts.

**-Experience is an asset.**
- Valid Drivers License, CPR/First Aid, Volunerable Sector Check, and Medical required
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field.
- The successful applicant will need to complete CPI Restraint training, if not already certified.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Casual
Part-time hours: 0-40 per week

**Salary**: $22.00-$23.75 per hour

all initial interviews will be virtual, our homes are continuing to follow all Public Health recommendations, such as wearing masks, limiting attendance at the home, hand washing, social distancing when possible, rapid testing frequently.
